  1. Review of the K&C 7th Hussar Trumpter Xclusive 4 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Dec 2015

I have been collecting K&C Napoleonic pieces for many years. When I saw there would be a "special" piece available in the current French 7th Hussars series, I immediately wanted one. The photos are accurate in their depiction of the piece. And here is my personal opinion of this offering. It being limited, makes is special. The paint and sculpting of the piece ARE exceptional, in my view. The colors and trim pieces make this a very attractive piece to add to my display. I rated the piece as being "4 stars" with the only thing I didn't agree with was the way the bugle cord/braid was hung under the trumpet. I don't think it has the correct angle to the cord/braid as it is "swung" towards the trumpter's leg at an angle that I don't find realistic. Of course, you could take the view that he just placed his trumpet on his leg at the instant that the sculpter visualized the piece. But to my eye, the cord/braid should be hanging in a more natural look with the loop not slanted towards the bugler's leg.
Other than that, this is an excellent piece, I am happy to have it and am looking forward to more Xclusive pieces to be added to the K&C Napoleonic line. I was very happy to see that Sagers Soldiers made this piece available for sale without having to join the K&C Club.
