French Old Guard Chasseurs

guardchasseurssquare-catpage-800x600.jpg

First Legion presents you with the French Old Guard Chasseurs as they appeared at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.   In this release, we have tried to capture the moment when General Cambronne uttered his famous words, "The Guard dies, it never surrenders" thus immortalizing the legacy of the French Old Guard.   We have presented them such that a very large and varied display can be created in either a 3 rank square or line of battle by providing you with 22 different codes including Cambronne himself, firing, loading, the dead and dying, and all of the specialist command figures that you've come to expect from First Legion.   Though designed for the moment at the closing of the battle when the Guard Chasseurs stood like a bulwark against the advancing Allied Armies, the figures are also extremely suitable for the fighting that took place in Plancenoit against the Prussians earlier in the day, as the Guard Chasseurs were also engaged there as well, as well as used to display against our British Guards for the final French attack at Waterloo where the 3rd Chasseurs were repulsed by Maitland's Britis Guards (the famous "Up Guards, at them!").   Enjoy!
